I am actively seeking a Store Manager for a Big Box located in beautiful Vanderhoof BC.
Part of a large well-known co-operative, the company has proudly served their member-owners since 1944 and is a retailer with a difference. They support many community events, groups and initiatives and treat their staff right by having competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package including an employee bonus incentive program.
You could become part of their ambitious plans to continue growing their business in the North Central area of British Columbia – starting in the role of Store Director.
You’d manage and oversee all aspects of the operation of the Home Centre which includes:
• Maintain the Co-op’s vision and values
• Develop a strong workplace culture, business development, customer contact, and brand initiatives
• Developing and achieving operating plans and budgets; designing and executing merchandising programs
Execute efficient buying, inventory management and pricing strategies to achieve optimum sales and margin
• Maintain health and safety programs and asset protection
• Hire, train and positive coach best practises and performance management
• Work co-operatively with other departments and suppliers
What skills we need from you:
• Strong employee relations which include demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of people
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and clear communication skills
• Adaptable, organized, efficient and committed
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands
• Knowledgeable about the industry and business trends
• Appropriate computer skills and technical knowledge
• Experience with planning, budgeting and operating statements
• Experience in retail in a similar position
